WELCOME

More than 30 voluntary/community groups use St. Margarets House on a regular basis. Many taking space under a licence agreement, acting as affiliated societies of the House and paying a standard licence fee; some paying what they can afford; many others using space here completely free of charge.

As well as supporting and resourcing affiliated user groups we develop and maintain our own social welfare initiatives: drop-in and self-help groups; art & craft projects; youth work and opportunities for volunteers.

Although St. Margarets is undoubtedly an umbrella organisation, this phrase does less than justice in describing the work undertaken here.

In 1993 we took on an underlease for numbers 15 & 17 Old Ford Road - the Georgian house to the west of our terrace and the small office block to its rear. These properties doubled our capacity.
